InnoStealer.
~ A malware
is able to steal cookies and information from web browsers.
~ It can
guide even a few crypto wallets for related information.
Hackers have
redirected Windows 11 programs with a new campaign that tricked its users into
downloading and installing malware. Once in a targeted system, the malware is
able to collect web browser cookies and other stored credentials, including
data from cryptocurrency wallets and the file system.
A malware
program discovered by cybersecurity researchers at CloudSEK. As it uses the
Inno Setup Windows installer to launch itself into the system, the malware is
labeled "InnoStealer." In a technical report shared with
BleepingComputer, researchers stated that the Inno Stealer has no resemblance
to any other type of malicious computer that steals information.
Since its
discovery, security researchers have raised alarms about malware, as it has a
wide range of targeted browsers and crypto wallets. Inno Stealer's compromised
browsers include Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, 360 Browser, and Comodo.
A malware is able to steal cookies and information stored on these web browsers
and send them to a cyber criminal.
The added
risk is that malware is allowing cybercriminals to download additional paid
loads into the system. The report notes that the act took place only at night
when the victim was not at the computer. New payloads, in the form of TXT
files, can then continue to press security settings on the system. Inno Stealer
was then able to steal the clipboard information and extract the database
calculation data.
